Type locality: Limu , Ethiopia

Diagnosis

Male is similar to P. kaffinum by (a) being restricted to Ethiopian highlands only; (b) frons not pruinose Frons more extensively black; (c) labrum all pale; (d) antehumeral stripes and postocular spots usually well-developed; (e) 3 cells between Fw quadrilateral and subnode [3-4]; (f) cerci with basal tooth present separate from poorly developed flange, although it may be hard to see; (g) lower branch of cerci not so large, not strongly incurved Branches of cerci long and pointed, gap between them larger. However, differs by (1) larger size, Hw 22-26 mm; (2) postclypeus all black, rather than black with orange border; (3) dorsum S8-10 with continuous bright blue marking, often constricted medially on S8-9. Habitat description

Streams shaded by forest. Usually with rocks, often emergent vegetation, probably submerged roots and a gravelly and/or sandy bottom. Inferred to occur from 1200 to 2900 m above sea level.
