Paragomphus nigroviridis Cammaerts, 1969
Black-and-green Hooktail

Type locality: Uele, Bambesa, DRC

Diagnosis

Male is similar to P. viridor and P. alluaudi by (a) anterior hamule hook-shaped;(b) cerci slender, at least 1.5x as long as S10; apices of cerci diverge, are thick, truncate, and often coarsely toothed; (c) epiproct longer, almost as long as S10 or longer, not so strongly curved upwards; does not reach midpoint of cerci, with distinct median knobs. However, differs by (1) ranging from C DRC to W Africa; (2) occiput black rather than green; (3) thorax largely black with greenish stripes and spots; (4) antehumeral stripe reduced to dorsal spot which is separated from postdorsal stripe, like 7 with dot (7.); (5) apices of cerci tapering, distally with distinct pointed tooth.
