Diagnosis

Males of this species are near L. pallidus by (a) thorax is uniformly pale to dark, marked black or dark markings irregular with at most slight bronze green; (b) tips of cerci are pointing towards eachother, like pair of pliers or forceps (dorsal view); (c) paraprocts are blunt, without apical process. However differs by (1) inner border of cerci are smooth, without a basal tooth; (2) paraprocts are rounded rather than triangular, and very short. [Adapted from Dijkstra & Clausnitzer 2014]

Habitat description

Standing and mostly temporary waters in open landscapes. Usually with emergent and often aquatic vegetation. From 0 to 1200 m above sea level, but possibly up to 2200.
